| Sit Command
|
|
|
|
- Start with your dog in a standing position.
- Hold a treat in your hand so that the dog cannot eat it.
- Say the dogs name.
- Say "sit".
- Start with your hand in front of the dogs nose and slowly move it toward the dogs tail.
- Once the dog sits, say "good dog" first, Then give him the treat.

Your dog should move into a sit position by following the movement of your hand. Never push on your dogs hind quarters to encourage a sit. It could hurt the forming joints.
Note: Be careful to not hold your hand too high. This will cause the dogs nose to go up and will result in him jumping up as shown in the picture.
